How to Submit your Music to the Smiling Ear Internet Radio Station

Many of the composers and musicians played on the Smiling Ear are unsigned artists. We are committed to being an alternative outlet for relaxing, healing music and we regularly accept music submissions for possible inclusion into the Smiling Ear Playlist and the Smiling Ear Music Review Blog.

The submission fee is $25. This fee includes a constructive evaluation of your music sent to you by email within 3-5 business days after receiving your material. If we believe your music is suited for the Smiling Ear playlist, the fee also covers the MP3 conversion and mp3 tags and and possible music review blog.

You can submit your music by sending a CD of your work, a bio and/or promotional information and a check for $25 made out to “Smiling Ear” and send to:

Submitting your music does not insure that it will be played on the Smiling Ear Internet Radio Station and CD’s or other materials will not be returned.

You can also submit digital files and pay online by credit card through Paypal. If you choose this method, send an email with your personal information and a link to download your music files. There is a very good chance that your music will be selected for the Smiling Ear broadcast if it meets our guidelines. We are always looking for new material! Please review our guidelines before submitting your music for the best possible chance of acceptance.

Smiling Ear Music Guidelines

• Most importantly, songs must be relaxing and soothing. This is what the Smiling Ear is all about.
• We prefer instrumental work but occasionally accept songs with vocals
• The primary genres and sub-categories we accept are: New Age, Ambient, Downtempo, Acoustic, Ambient Electronic or Electronica, Ambient Acoustic Electronic, World, Trance, Environmental, Ethnic Fusion, Healing, Meditation, Spiritual and Classical.
• Good sound and mix quality. We know that many artists are self recorded and produced, but please do your best to learn your software and recording equipment. Especially pay attention to distortion due to over-limit recording levels and exceeding your computer’s sound processing capability.
